Last night, a bunch of us went to go see Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Young Jeezy, and Young Buck in concert at Freedom Hall in Detroit. This was basically my first live concert, so I really had no idea what to expect. I was suprised at how small the venue was considering the lineup that was there. There seemed to be a ton of open seats, which I definitely wasnt anticipating seeing.
Here are some random observations of the night:
1) When Lil Wayne came out, the crowd went absolutely crazy. Even though Wayne was on stage for like 20 mins, seeing him perform live was a a really cool experience. For those of you I havent already talked to, Lil Wayne left stage saying that he felt "disrespected" by the city of Detroit. (My theory is that he was upset at how small the venue was. Since they were only able to sell a certain number of seats, I guess they could only pay Lil Wayne for a certain amount of stage-time. Ehh idk though, the whole thing is kinda confusing to me.It seems like they would have told wayne before he went on stage that he only had 25 mins, so I dont know he would be upset at his fans that actually did show love by showing up). I dont know if he'll come back to Detroit, because he left to some vicious boos and chants of "bullshit bullshit".
2) Fab' must have been wearing 500k worth of jewelry. He had like 4 plantimum chains on and his belt buckle was just riddiculous. As expected, Fab definitely held it down, coming with some of his older stuff mixed with a few tracks off his new album
3) Jeezy's performance was definitely the hypest of the night. He came out with a ton of energy and seemed determined to hype up the crowd. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the night was when Jeezy came out and was like "They just told me backstage that I only got mothafuckin 25 mins. You know what, fuck that! I'ma make this the best mothafuckin 25 mins of your lives" But yea like I said, I can see why people have so much love for Jeezy. He just seemed to go all out with his performance. He just came real hard with it and brought a level of intensity that I thought some of the others lacked.
4)One final highlight of the night was when the entire lawn section of the crowd rushed all of the open seats in the general seating area, a clutch call that landed us 80 dollar seats and closer to the stage. Funny thing is we saw it all go down... These girls who were chillin right in front of us, basically set it all off. Lol, i guess u had to be there but it was just funny because once they rushed, pretty much everyone else was like fuck it and did the same thing and within like 2 mins, several hundred people made it down to the lower level.
Besides that, Im leaving for Windsor tomorrow at 2:30pm and plan on staying for there for 7-- days. I plan on staying in some cheap hotel like the Holiday Inn or somethin and just grinding all day. Basically, Im giving it a week to see what its like to be a live pro. If poker continues to go well, the plan is to move out to Vegas and live there for at least half the summer. Im not sure if Im going to be able to handle just poker 24/7 but I really feel like if I want to take the next step and actually get good, I need to devote myself to the game. Hopefully, everything goes well this week. Im going to be basically just playing poker and nothing else, so feel free to give me a call and check up on me.
